age of 2.5, he was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma.<br \/>\nThe doctors in Essen fought for his eyesight for almost four years &#8211; but lost the battle.<br \/>\nMaximilian has been blind since he was 6 years old.<br \/>\n&#8220;But I remember colors, shapes, the faces of my mother and father.
