The new KAKS magazine is here!
“Maybe there are better times, but this is ours.”
That is the motto of this year’s edition of the KAKS!
magazine.
We are facing major challenges in these times.
Every single one of us.
Even in these times, children are getting cancer.
Prof. Francis Munier, one of the most internationally renowned retinoblastoma experts, says: “Informing parents that their child has cancer is a huge challenge.”
You can read about the challenges we face and the ideas we have in this KAKS!
magazine.
It describes a good part of our daily work.
We bring people together, we want children and adults diagnosed with retinoblastoma to be able to live confident, self-assured and well-informed lives.
Thanks to your donations, we can offer these people, parents, affected children and survivors a perspective, the certainty that they are not alone, that they are supported and accompanied by a large community.
That we care.
Together with experts, we are working on structured aftercare, which has not existed until now, and are funding research, representing the interests of a group of cancer patients who are important and have not been heard for years.
This also includes early detection: we raise awareness of eye cancer in children, both among the public and among pediatricians – because early diagnosis saves lives.
This year, an important challenge was added: the Ukrainian cancer patients.
Thanks to you, KAKS was able to bring 102 children with cancer to Germany.
Many of you donated quickly, easily and with great trust.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
