Consulting

We offer professional support, exchange opportunities for parents of children with retinoblastoma, for survivors and strengthen resilience through targeted help.

Our KAKS Stammtisch takes place all year round, every first Monday of the month from 8 pm via Zoom – registration is not required.
Click in and join us – we look forward to seeing you!

Talking, listening, sharing.
Valuable impulses that offer guidance in difficult situations.

We guide you safely through the jungle of authorities, explain technical jargon and answer medical questions.
So that you can climb the mountain in front of you and see more clearly afterwards (RB guide).

We know how valuable the exchange between parents is, which is why we are happy to make contacts and help so that experienced parents can help newly affected parents.
This is invaluable.
Genuine experience, informative exchanges with each other and networking are unifying and empowering.

As KAKS encouragers, we all have something in common: we all had retinoblastoma. With our commitment as encouragers, we want to show that we are normal people and we want to encourage others who are affected!

Our free subscription to the KAKS newsletter
With the KAKS newsletter we keep you up to date on important news, workshops, seminars, meetings for affected families and survivors, as well as all information relevant to RB.

Encounters in which people find trust in each other and feel connected through shared experiences.
In our RB meetings, people can talk openly about their fears and worries, but also laugh together and share important life experiences.
A safe space where children, parents, friends and relatives can feel understood and accepted and make friends for life.

The state cancer societies of the German Cancer Society have established a network of psychosocial counseling centers throughout Germany.
Those affected and their relatives can find information and practical help here – in person, by telephone or in writing.

Cancer raises a wealth of questions – thanks to their professional expertise and experience, the staff at the advice centers are able to find answers to your questions. They help with specific, current life problems that arise or are exacerbated by illness:

  • Dealing with the disease
  • Help with grief and loss
  • Help and support for anxiety
  • Nutrition and sport
  • Family and couple conflicts
  • Sexuality
  • Change in social contacts
  • Conflicts with doctors
  • Difficulties in everyday hospital life
  • Self-help groups and professionally led discussion groups

When fears get out of hand, when despair and hopelessness spread or the illness raises many questions, professional support can help cancer patients and their relatives to come to terms with the illness.

In addition to the help offered by regional cancer counseling centers, acute clinics and rehabilitation facilities, psychotherapeutic psycho-oncologists generally offer longer-term support.
The following selection of addresses is intended to make it easier to find therapists close to home.
Listed are psychotherapeutic psycho-oncologists with further training in the counseling and treatment of cancer patients recognized by the German Cancer Society.
