Donations handed over at RTL – 614,000 euros for Elli’s Eyeland by KAKS
Elli’s Eyeland is intended to be a small place that can be transformed depending on the event, where special moments are given away.
An island where people can land, find their bearings and look around in peace, find help – after a cancer diagnosis.
Which is always a turning point in life.
Elli’s Eyeland is to become the control center of the KAKS, a contact point for everyone involved with retinoblastoma, where there will be opportunities for seminars, workshops, further training, etc. To find a good way forward together for affected children and families.
Because in most cases, the acute medical treatment of children is not enough.
As a result of numerous treatments, many children have visual impairments, consequential damage (psychological and physical) and the parents also need support.
KAKS will have its own office there for the first time: Planning events for doctors, children, parents, survivors, dealing with daily work, organizing lectures, awareness campaigns and fundraising events, planning research projects and, for the first time, being directly contactable by telephone.
