Juliane Schröder

Juliane is an architect and waited until her time at KAKS suddenly came around: “When you live in Meerbusch with your family, the children go to school there, you meet up all the time both in the supermarket and at the ENT doctor, you automatically stumble across “KAKS”.
KAKS – what is that?
A name?
An abbreviation?
I admit that I had no idea what it was at first.
I also didn’t dare to ask right away because I had the feeling that I was the only “ignorant” one.
But as soon as you make the first move to find out more, you are already part of it and belong to it with a naturalness I had never experienced before!
Impressed by everyone’s voluntary commitment, I tended to observe the work of the Children’s Eye Cancer Foundation from a distance in the first few years and was glad that I could at least contribute a few donations.
But I didn’t really know how I could make a useful contribution.
But Moni, who I kept telling that I would like to help out, gave me a motivating smile and assured me that my time would come.
And then at some point she called: KAKS would apply to the “RTL Stiftung – wir helfen Kindern” (RTL Foundation – we help children) in order to be able to finance its own premises for the entire office activities and, if possible, also for coaching, lectures and organizational meetings.
And this would also be my task: to assess what a possible renovation would cost and how long a renovation phase would take and, above all, if rooms were found, whether I could plan, supervise and monitor the renovation work!
Exactly my thing!
And I’ve been at it ever since.
With great pleasure!”
